Last weekend I saw some pictures of a US M88 Hercules. Does a conversion for the AFV M88 exist ?
Thanks,
Marc

There is a conversion for the AFV Club M88A1 to make it into the M88A2 Heavy Equipment Recovery Combat Utility Lift and Evacuation System (aka HERCULES). It can be found at http://www.aefdesigns.com. I cannot vouch for their quality or timeliness of delivery though. I also don't know if it can be used with the AFV Club M88 (Nam era) or Revell of Germany M88A1G (reboxed AFV Club M88A1 w/Bundeswehr add-ons).

Marc,
This is the Real Models conversion for the M88 Hercules. I did not like this conversion. It was a waste of money (BIG$$$). It came with the boom, front winch, side skirts, and a whole new upper hull. It was made for the AFV kit. I used the the Vietnam version since it came with both individual tracks and the rubber band tracks. The upper hull doesnt matter because you get a replacement. The reason why I hated this conversion was because of the replacement hull. It needed a whole hell of of lot of cleaning and didnt fit right. I ended up just making templates of the hull armor and using Evergreen sheet plastic and added it on the original hull.

Saw the Mail Call show, I was kinda disappointed . They covered the HET pretty well, but, the M88 segment was kinda lacking and the Dragon Wagon part was way too short. I know they only have 30 minutes per show and R Lee is a riot anyway, but, I wanted more Dragon Wagon action!

MMB,
Mail Call is a show on the History Channel where people send in questions about equipment and tactics of the U.S. Military, and R Lee Irmey, a former USMC Gunnery Sgt. turned actor fills in the answers. You'll remember R Lee as the gritty Gunny from Full Metal Jacket. The show is actually pretty cool, and R Lee is truly a riot, not to mention the luckiest guy on Earth, because he usually gets to drive, fire, fly, and tour every subject he shows.
Check it out!

That would explain a lot ! Sounds like a real cool TV show. Looks like I am out of luck because I live in the Netherlands and i have never seen it on the local TV provider (cable).
About the M88 does anyone have any experience with the Hercules conversion from AEF ?
Thanks,
Marc

Marc, I've heard that the conversions on the M88A1 to a hercules are no good at all and the're very expensive...
It wasn't worth the euries for me...
