Hi All - can anyone share the best quality, 1/72 scale appropriate, palm trees? It's for a North Africa landscape & know that the will be a variation in size in nature, but looking for the best out there as far as realism ….

Try these guys; "Hart of the South" scale palm trees... Their products are great, you have to do the assembly and paint, but the results are amazing... I just finished some Coconut trees from them they look great...

Wow! They do look great. Scale wise, would you say 3-7 inch for 1/72 and 10 inch for 1/35?

Also, do you know what's appropriate for North Africa vs. South Pacific etc.

For 1/72 I would use the smaller sizes, but remember that they varied in size greatly... I used it for a pacific diorama that is 1/48, so I used the 7 inch coconut tree... I dipped it in hot water and bent them in different shapes... I'll try to download some pictures if I could figure out how to post them... Also Vicious is correct...

Thanks guys - very helpful. Spole with hart over email and he said I could get 2 x 5 inch date palms out of the 10 inch kit they offer.

But wouldn't that make the leaves to large for that height?

The leaves are flexible and can be cut to whatever length you want for variation...
