Well, with my handy-dandy Hobby Lobby 50% off sale, I managed to get three Tamiya Hanomags (My brother's extra 15% off didn't hurt either. Only 20 bucks!). Well, my question is: How would one go about improving it? I've heard that it's outdated and inaccurate. I am now wiped out money wise, and I don't quite think I'm ready for Photo-Etched parts. I'm open to them, and I have to start somewhere. Say, now that I'm on PE, who would make a good set for them, and (This question is for central-based Hoosiers) where can I get it? Hobbytown, USA? Well, back to my original question: How can I improve it, scratch-built-wise? Thanks for your time.

The interior is BARE. I would and did add seat backs, I added rifle racks to the inside. I dremeled down the door hinge blocks to a nicer size and added opening and closing linkages. You can add nicer stowage box locks. I cut out and custom made nicer seat back. The stowage box next to the drive was easy to enhance with a bit of styrene.
I tweaked the towing hitch too.
You can use some hobby wire and tweak the rear MG mount. It's big and bulky.
Unfortunately the big errors (heigth, width, length) are hard to fix.
All this is scratch built from references.

I've also got a squadron book.

Wow, thanks. Anything else would be very helpful. I'm doing it for the AGE Campaign. My original one went head-on-head with one my cats, and needless to say, lost. Maybe my Panther would fair better :-) . Say, would anybody know how to change this Hanomag into an ammunition carrier? I think it's a Sdkfz. 251/4. Thanks for your time.

I built the kit and you could tell it was old. I tried to make the hatch on the front to the engine stand out a little more and you will have to modifie it if you want the slots for the crew to see and for them to shoot out of if you want them open.
