Hi, I bought the Tamiya Panther Ausf A 1/35th. I know its an older kit abd would like to know if there are any big inaccuracies.

The best answer is YES !! There is nothing accurate about this kit ...the angles are all wrong on the turret and hull armor...The tools are aweful....you are missing a whole set of road wheels..Tracks are not much better than elastic bands....and I must say does not even look very much like a Panther....But if you want to practice your painting and detailing skills you will be in for a challenge...Good luck with it ...

Don't feel too bad Kar98K, you're not the only one who bought a Tamiya Ausf A! I've even seen a comment somewhere that it's not even a correct 1/35th scale. Put it together and use it to practice / experiment on.

Like the others said, every tanker has one of those. I still use mine for paint practice. If you want a good one ,buy the DML kit. I saw an old Tamiya Panther built up to decent standards years ago when it was the only game in town. There wasn't much of the original kit left after the workover.

What? I just bought one two days ago!!!! I did because It was cheaper than the rest of the tanks I saw, I should have known better....
By the way, I also saw the Italery M1A2 and have not heard anything nice about it, is it that bad? What about the Tiger I from tamiya. I thought I would rather ask before I buy.
Thanks.

Depends on what Tiger you mean. Check the item number, if it about the same as the Panther A, then it is old tooling and in the same ballpark.
They did a Kingtiger, Jagdpanther and Jadgtiger in that era that all have about all the same problems.

And yeah, the Panther has the wrong number of roadwheels. The singles are supposed to be doubles...sorry...
DML makes a couple of nice A's and Tamiya's Panther G series (early, late and steel wheeled) are great!

A general rule when purchasing a Tamiya kit is to look at the item number. If it says '35150' or above it's most likely a good kit. Anything under this number should be researched, such as looking up reviews on the internet or on magazines.
