Hey Trumpy: (the model company not the President) you already have the molds (and the decals) made up for the HIMARS modular 6-pack, artillery rocket pods.

We need a separate kit containing four of these rocket pods to use as freight loads on the many HEMTTs and Flatrack models you and other hobby manufacturers have sold us over the years.

This would be a minimal investment on your part (a new box) for what I suspect would be maximum ROI.

Nice blocking soldier!

(Offering a bulkhead flatrack would not be a bad idea either - but I digress . . . . .)

I bought a MLRS launcher with two pods - kept the pods and gave away the launcher.

Trumpy I'm sure you love hearing that!

Actually only two rocket pods here - I used Photoshop to create a second bank to give me a max load of four.

(CHU and narrow CROPS Flatrack are scratch built - Containers are Italeri and Trumpeter - F.Y.I. Michael Goldberg now offers a 1/35th scale CHU - Container Handling Unit - on Shapeways in case anyone might be interested.)

The M1077 flatrack on M1120 Kit is not really great. So I wouldn´t hope for either M1 or M3 CROP.

BTW
M1 Flatrack is available from MMK

Oooooohhh...Heartbreak Ridge reference!

"...Be advised! I'm mean, nasty and tired. I eat concertina wire and I piss napalm. And I can put a round through a flea's ass at 300m so why don't you go hump somebody else's leg, mutt-face, before I push yours in!..."

Arleighburke - I knew someone made an etched set for the rocket pods but did not know it included the entire pod plus decals! Thanks. I would still be happiest if Trumpeter would just package up a set of four in plastic. It was a real joy to build those first two and they really took on a character as I added all the many decals.

Hans - I have been to the MMK site often but not recently. Had no idea they were offering a bulkhead flatrack - did NOT see that coming! WOW, thanks for the lead! Order placed - hits away! Tempted to order the M1076 trailer as well. the photos on their site make it look REAL good!

One small criticism to MMK: I would have left the wood parts as a separate casting so the natural material could be distressed and painted and end up looking like a truly different natural substance from the steel framing. I might have to cut all that out and rebuild it.

Richard - no it was just a Mike Koenig reference - now I will have to watch to movie all over again!

Everyone - Thank you for playing.

Gunny Highway and the Sergeant Major are in the Major's office and he's talking about how he "hasn't had the privilige of combat" yet. Says something about being in Supply and the SGM says, "...an unappreciated field of endeavor, sir..." rolling his eyes.

Richard is correct. It's when he first meets the Major.

I agree, these would be great. Unfortunately, I don't think they would sell enough to be profitable for them. One can hope though.

Hi Mike,

You do know your Photobucket links are showing up as little black X's, right? Unless you pay them blood money you can't post working links on other sites.

Well I did not know - I have received no notice from them of late.

Because I use such a large bandwidth (have so many photos posted) I have been paying them a token amount ($2.99/month) for a number of years now.

Looks like my light string has now run out and I will have to get on one of their "modern" plans. Up to now I have been grandfathered in.

Thanks
