Yep Humbrol tins are the opposite, always easy to open but if you do not clean well hard to close, instead the "new" bottles of thinner, cotes ect ... with the "Kids proof lid" many times are impossible to open.

maybe I have to try too with my 3 year old son, a few months ago we spent a night in the hospital because he managed to reach the panadol,he took a chair went up on the sink and opened the medicine cabinet,open the bottle with the "kids proof lid" and he drunk half a bottle, lucky after the tests it resulted few ml under the OD limit.... i S*#"%T my self that night .... I miss the old times of the medicines with horrible tastes, now they have the tastes of cherry, strawberry and unicorn fart !!!....

Glad to hear he's OK, he sounds very adventurous. The worst my children did at that age was eating from the cat's dish, and eating dead slugs from the beer slug trap in the vegetable patch.

The difficulty with the Humbrol tins is the paint builds up on the lid, so you need to chip it off with a screwdriver etc.

Yep definitely adventurous he have no fear of anything and we’re i leave can be a problem ...a big problem with crocs,snakes and spiders remember me a movie where this 2 mates go at the restaurant eat and drink and then come the waiter with the bill and they always say “we don’t pay because we have fear of no ones “...that’s my 3 year old!!!

My older brother once fed me a bottle of orange flavored baby aspirin when I was about a year old. He had a massive brain tumor and had some behavior issues and mom kept taking the bottle from him because he liked the taste. He found them and fed them to me one at a time. Had my stomach pumped. Mom had to hide all the medications from him after that and keep tools and other things from him that could be put into power outlets.

if your talking about local hobby shops ,we don't have anymore in this area ! We had a lot, but all gone now. I not that bad where I need medical aids lol thanks anyway !lol I just like the Gunze one and was hoping Tamiya made one .

I've done that too lol ! I have the strap wrench, like a smaller version of the old oil filter wrench.Thamks

Shaking, stirring, not going to matter. Doesn't matter if it's Tamiya, Gunze, Pactra, Model Master, Mig, AK or any other that has a screw on lid, that's not how paint gets on the threads. Unless you can guarantee that the bottle has always been upright during manufacturing, shipping and handling or paint hasn't slopped around from the bottles being moved paint will always be inside the lid. Taking a stirrer, pipette or paint brush in and out of the bottle will get paint on the rim. When done with the bottle just give a quick check to make sure the threads of the bottle and cap are clean if not give them a quick wipe. I've been building since the late 60's and got my first shaker in the late 80's early 90's but before that I stirred those little bottles with a tooth pick or a modified nail. There was still paint inside the cap and still got stuck lids. Humbrol was the only paint that I've used that never had a stuck lid.[/quote
I actually started before you and never used humbol. testors was the ones we used in the late 50s

The old plastic Pactra bottles shaped like Testors bottles but with the design molded into the bottles. I tossed the last of those a few years back. Kept them for nostalgia, they had dried up decades ago. When Model Master came out in the round bottles and larger caps it made it a lot easier to grip and open stubborn bottles plus the held more paint. At the end when Testors bought Pactra, the put it in round bottles too until they killed the brand.
