I am close to complete ALAN's Marder II D and would like to know if anybody is aware which sort of equipments has been located at the inner sides of the armour plates.
The kit does not provide stuff like MP, gas mask, spare glasses, MG ammo or whatsoever which can be seen squeezed in on other german open topped vehicles.
I have no references which cleary show that these things were added, but I doubt that the Marder II D missed this equipment.
anybody who can help??

Werner,

I would think there would be exactly the kind of stowage you had mentioned. Space was at a premium on these vehicles (Marders' etc.) and I have seen them crammed with stuff hanging off the sides, stuffed into the space between the hull and substructure, etc.

You will find photos in the Panzer Colors series.

Certainly the crew would hang canteens, haversacks, binoculars and the like where they are easily gotten to. And ammo boxes on the floor, sub-machine guns and even grenades close by. Remember, these vehicles were ofen used at close quarters and they had to defend themselves from infantry.

Use your existing photos and go from there. I thnk you will be right on. These extras will make a great replica!

Hi Werner. Most Marder II I have seen in photo's don't seem to have to
much stowage on board. But here our 2 photo's, though not perfectly clear,
they might give you an idea. I hope this helps out a bit.
I also am interested in buying 2 of theses kit's by Alan - Did you enjoy building it ?
And would you recommend it ?

attn screaming eagly..
one is off for a few days and the forum is full..started browsing again and found your reply..
thanks for the pic, i did not know it ..
concerning the kit...I can recommend it insofar if you want to have someting different in the collection. If you expect good fit, a clear instruction, nice tools, then please leave your fingers off.
the individual tracks are nice. the upper armour was broken on 4 occasions when I opened the box...
I used Eduard PE, which are quite helpful, but due to whatever reason they have almost no parts to improve the gun.
If you are not keen on sanding and filing I would recommend to uses Tamiyas gun, from the marde, or Italeris gun.
I uses Tamiyas panzer IV tools.
I added some pics of it in the workbench area.
as it shall cross a railwaybed the running gear looks a bit different..

i'm also working on that model ,its my current project.I agree with you tank buster, the fit of the kit is very poor.Lot of sink hole to fill. It's kind of sanding "festival".
But it make a different model to put in the collection.
