For a Syrian 1982 tank, would it be more appropriate to have OMSH or RMSH tracks?

Hi;

Both types could be appropriate, altho you do not see many T-62s these days even in Syria, more T-72s ! just make sure that if you depict A T-62 that you use the Correct drive Sprocket for RMSH tracks !

I would safely say that all T-62s had OMsh tracks, as the newer tracks were kept for the T-72s. The only Syrian T-62s that I have seen photos of with RMsh tracks are recently delivered ex-Russian T-62Ms.

It should be possible for Syrian T-62's in Lebanon to have the RMsh tracks. All T-62's from the mid 70's on that were overhauled were upgraded with the new track. So depending when it was acquired from the USSR would be the deciding factor. Unfortunately there are few good pics of Syrian tanks from 1982

Trucks RMSh began to put on the T-62 in the late 60-ies. Most likely we can say that tanks in Syria in 1982 established a tracks RMSh. Although, of course, this is not an unambiguous statement. It could meet and tanks with tracks OMSh... As colleagues correctly pointed out, it all depends on the time of the hit of a particular tank in Syria...
