I've been thinking of doing the AFV Club M3A3 as a Chinese Civil War Vehicle-I already have the Hobby Fan figures. But I don't know about the tanks themselves-how were they marked. I have the book on the Chinese Civil War, but no depictions of any tanks involved.

Tom,
The kit decals are quite accurate-google Chinese "M3A3" and you'll find alot of pics.
Dan
PS-there are many M3A3s in Illinois.

There is a photo series in the Google/LIFE collection with photos of tanks. They are essential the same types of markings used by the Chinese in India in 1944.
The AFV Club kit is good and can be detailed rather easily to make a superior model.

One more question-is there supposed to be a rubber tire on the large rear wheel? Some photos seem to have them while others don't.

It was incorporated after production started and could be installed as a replacement. The kit idler is all metal.
