am building Trumpeter's Type 86 IFV and I m wondering about the color of the antitank misslie were the Chinese equivalent to the AT-3 Sagger really red or is the red color a parade thing?

It very well may be a real thing. I remember seeing a couple bright purple Saggers on Iraqi BMP-1s during ODS. I'm guessing they did it to help track the missile in flight using the Mark I eyeball in place of those high-dollad optics.

The Chinese version of the AT-3 is called the HJ-73. They have different variations on the HJ-73 too. I have seen them painted in different colors.
