This is really mind blowing. Looking for a Kaeble Schwerer Schlepper in 1/35, I new they were on this site, but not the type I was looking for, then I ran into this one... Custom Scale's first Plastic Kit.
Check the link to the site and get some cushions to comfort falling from your chair.

Thanks for the tip Dan.
Reason I bought 2 is because you can build a Büssing NAG 900 from this kit. I think I only need the hardtop of 4500 A or S for the shape, with length that needs a little adjustment because of extra window part. Side panels of the bonnet will need some scratch building, grille is the same, so far I can see. See the picture below, from a very useful site by the way (think that's old news among axis geeks over here)
http://www.kfzderwehrmacht.de/Homepage_english/Motor_Vehicles/Germany/Bussing-NAG/Bussing-NAG_900/bussing-nag_900.html
I'm really exited on getting this kit. See how it looks and builds. Had some serious doubts after building 2 resin kits from Custom Scale, including the resin Sd.Ah 115 with V2 load, hope the plastic won't have that effect..
Kind regards,
Robert Jan

Speedy J have you received your copies of the new Das Work kit as yet? I ask because you are geographically located much closer to the company doing the molding than we in the US. The word here is that the kit should arrive in the US around mid-January.

Hi Michael.
Just ordered this evening. Got it confirmed straight after payment. Almost a dream come true this kit. Besides the Sd.Ah 115, which looks really nice from the CADs, the truck is a power beast. Long Nose Diesels from Germany, I love it. Ordered from the company site in Germany, great service by the way, expected to arrive within 2 weeks, from earlier purchase experience.
Already checked for a Büssing-NAG 4500 A, cheap and AFV Club model (Thailand supplier) to make a conversion from one kit(will not tell you the pricing, otherwise everybody starts shopping in my hobby garden of Eden)
Kind regards,
Robert Jan

Robert is your plan to utilize the front radiator cowl of the Bussing-Nag 4500 and scratch build a longer bonnet hood in order to convert the Faun to a Nag?
Are any mechanical changes required for the conversion?

Dan, that is a super build review by Rob on the "Modelers Social Club Forum." Thank you.
(I prefer this type of step by step photo build over a video any day!)
It shows us not only the basic construction but finishing and weathering as well. AND . . . it covers the trailer construction too, which the video review does not.
Myself I will probably build the trailer first anyway as that is my primary interest here. The truck will be a bit awkward (for me) in that while I appreciate the model giving us three different rear leaf spring sets to use depending on how one intends to load the vehicle. (Depressed for a heavy load, higher for a medium load or full height for no load at all.) But it means I now have to figure out how I intend to display the model before I even begin building the truck frame!
(This model has me again thinking of how I might build actual working leaf springs.)

Hi Michael. That is exactly my plan. The German 'Einheitsbau' gives an almost identical build, where only factory or brand details were added, like a different cabin or engine cowl.

Hi, Mike and Everyone Else!
Referring back to one of your earlier posts about reading ALL posts or just selecting certain ones, THIS is the kind of thing that will interest me! Though I probably won't buy any 1/35 WWII German vehicle in the near future, some of those HUGE Faun and Vomag vehicles really caught my eye...
There's always been a little bug in the back of my mind about attempting to kit-bash a German Staff Car that has the nose of a Horch Typ 40 and the rear open cabin of a Steyr Kommandeurwagen. This specific vehicle is shown as a Luftwaffe Staff Car in the SCHIFFER Book, "CARS of the WEHRMACHT" German Vehicles In WWII, by Reinhard Frank- If anyone has a copy of this book, the particular vehicle that I'm referring to can be found at the bottom of PAGE 60. It is described as, "Uniform Chassis II for Heavy Pkw Type 40 with Cabriolet Body". None other than the Kommandant of the "Herman Goering" Panzer Division, Paul Conrath, is standing up in the rear seat area of this vehicle.
I've compared the contours and shapes between the old TAMIYA Typ 40 kit, side by side with the later TAMIYA Steyr Kommandeurwagen kit, and it looks like it would be a daunting task to mate them together properly. A LOT of measuring, cutting, fitting, puttying, and sanding would have to take place... Still, I've done quite a few other complicated (And frustrating!)conversions in my time, so...
The "Paper-Panzer" guys should find quite a bit of subject matter to drool over on the CUSTOM SCALE site...

Dennis - I am not sure if this is the vehicle you are speaking of. There was also a "deluxe" long chassis version of this field car that had a fixed body panel approximately 20 inches long inserted between the front and rear doors.
The model shown here is a combination of the old Echi Horch field car and the newer Tamiya Kommandeurwagon.

I watched Electronic B and the price from a seller from Japan goes with a plus 50 Euro, so purchase from Custom Scale directly(tip). I always do that when possible, like MFH for F1 cars, straight from their shop. Good service and price. Custom Scale same same, nice contact and service.
So its released in Japan already I guess. My two kits are released from customs this morning and dispatched, will get a note to pick them up tomorrow. Saturday morning business, visit post office in Pathum Thani.
Cheers

Mine hit the stash 10 days ago (which isn't a huge surprise since I'm based in Germany so the distribution chain is quite short)

Lucky you. I'm a Dutch guy living in Thailand, so I will not complain about the chain, which is pretty good. Have fun with the kits.
Are you doing a blog on this kit? Maybe I will, depends on my schedule for the coming months.
Cheers,
Robert Jan

Thanks for the link H.P. Seems it will take a bit of scratch building or wait for some aftermarket products to show up (they will I'm sure about that) besides the already products from Custom Scale. But in general it is a great kit and I'm looking forward to start with it. It is also to be mentioned that the original plans from archives are not there anymore. Destroyed after bombing, so interpretations of the designers have some flaws.
Kind regards,
Robert Jan

I feel tempted to do a blog but will wait a bit for it, since some problems with the kit have been highlighted already and I will want to see, where all this goes...
