Was doing some snooping for an M1134 kit I have inbound and found some interesting M113 photos. Info says the photos were taken during JMRC Rotation 13-1 in Bavaria. Tracks are 1/4 Inf. They have an unusual camo .... Sand, Medium green, red brown. and a couple of shots show a turret , kind of like the Aussie Fire Support M113s. OPFOR for USAREUR? Oh, and one of the crew members is wearing black cover alls. (I'd post a couple pics but something is amiss with my puter.) Also, while on the subject .... Would the M1134s use the drivers windsheild set up? (I'm thinking no due to the blast of the TOWS.) And, what version of the TOW would they most likely use.

They are known as OPFOR Surrogate Vehicles(OSV. They are visually modified (VISMOD) M113s to look like Russian/Soviet tanks and BMPs. They are used at both CMTC in Germany and NTC in California.
BMP version w/ "30mm" barrel.
Tank version w/thick barrel.
As to the M1134 w/driver's shield, I would say it is possibloe. Spec Ops Strykers in Syria are using them and they look armored.

And here is the latest BMP paint scheme for 1-4 IN. I am hoping AFV Club does an M113A3 so I can do this tiger striped version. I am tired of fixing the Academy or the Tamiya M113s. Check out the laser gun instead of the typical VISMOD BMP turret. I have only seen this with 1-4 vehicles.

The missile launcher on the OSV BMP is only simulated. Not sure if they fire a Hoffman when simulating a launch.
The Opfor tank also know as the OSTS-MBT.

He is talking about the M1134 Stryker driver's cover and TOWs. Not the OSV.
