I have the Hobby Fan M936 wrecker conversion set and it looks like it will be a straight-forward build. I haven't built it yet though.
For the gunner's position, the top part of the seat folds down and becomes a platform that the gunner stands on.
The basic truck is lacking quite a bit. I highly recommend Legend's M923 Detail set (LF1244). It adds a lot to it. At a minimum, you need new wheels/tires as the kit ones are horrible.
Also, in step 7, do not add the shift lever (80A). The truck has an automatic transmission and should not have the shift lever at all.
Thanks. Did the M923 ever have a steel roof, like the Marine Mk 23? Or was it always the canvas roof. I bought the Eduard upgrade kit for my Italeri kit and unlike the Eduard M35 upgrade kit, theres nothing in it for building the seat in the down position for the gunner to stand on.

Yes.
Both the Italeri M925 kit (284) and M925 Shelter Truck kit (368) have the hard top included. The only difference between an M923 and an M925 is that the M925 has a winch.

Thanks for the info.
