I have several cans, but am not really sure if it supposed to represent a specific shade of sand, or is simply a generic color? I thought of painting my Iraqi ambulance with that paint.

IMO, it doesn't really matter which color of "SAND" you wind up using; all light colors fade, become filthy, and take up a general "scruffiness" after a time out in the field. I would think that in this Iraqi case, it would have been "you use what you have if you can get hold of it"...
