I'd like to share some pictures of my latest project: The Trumpeter 1:35 Stridsvagn Strv-103C.
This Swedish MBT is defentitely the most interesting project I have done so far. Iconic for this tank is the lack of a turret, unlike any other Main Battle Tank. This was done to allow for the installation of an autoloader and to lower the profile of the vehicle. As a result it looks unlike any other tank I built sofar.
Another incredible feature of the Stridsvagn is its hydropneumatic suspension. Because the gun is fixed in place, the gun is aimed by moving the entire tank. The hydropneumatic suspension allows the tank to tilt. I replicated this feature by scratchbuilding working suspension into my kit. Other additions were a RB Model metal barrel and an Eduard PE set. I hope you like the result!

I really like this! It is so different almost science fiction like and the colors so vivid that it really stands out. I love it. I would finish the wooden base for the finished look.

I like it, always had a thing for the Stridsvagn. Is the kit suspension adjustable or did you have to do the adjustment yourself?

Thank you Jim! That's exactly why I decided to make a diorama for the tank, and it worked out I think.

Thank you very much Greg!
The weird looks of the vehicle combined with the camouflage and colours really make for a strange appearance indeed! I do have to admit that the green is far brighter than it should be, but I think that it actually makes the vehicle look more lively and shows the complicated splinter camouflage even better. As for the wooden base, I thought I'd stick to the plain wood with a gloss varnish to make a contrast to the tank and diorama. How would you suggest I finished it?

What did you use for grass?
Thanks Dan.
I used Model Scene grass flock (MS-006-03) for the grass. It has a
more natural appearance than other brands of static grass I have used, I recommend it!

Thank you very much Max! The Stridsvagn is starting to grow on me aswell, especially after this project. The kit suspension is not adjustable unfortunately, but it can be modified to be so fairly easily. I simply cut off the plastic strip that kept the suspension arm in place, and then drilled the arm out. I then inserted a piece of wire to connect the suspension arms on both side, this makes sure both wheels have the same elevation and prevents the wheels from falling off.

Thank you Nigel! Glad you like the camouflage, I wasn't sure about it at first but i think it turned out quite nicely.
