here are a couple pics of my AGE campaign entry. the figures are dragon, and everything else was scratch built. the wooden things (house/fence) are mostly from stir sticks. i would really like any comments or pointers anyone may have.

Quite well done Sir! I love the wooden shingle roof... and the figures (especially facial tones) are done very well also. Tell us more about the techniques and design.

another nice AGe entry.I liked both the painting of figures and also the overall diorama.congrats meissen... I am so glad to see young talented modelers not only building and painting models also creating dioramas using their imagination.

Meissen,

an excellent entry. I was wondering what you used to make the grass (both smaller and higher grass)....

Congrats on completing your AGE Campaign submission. Very well done sir!

I especially like the natural layout of the dio, i.e. figure placement is realistic and does not look staged or contrived.

Beautiful work with the stir sticks--wow--a lot of orginality here with the fence sections and the building, plus the finish on "real" wood always looks natural-which you have achieved here.

Fig painting is also well done, with the uniforms shaded/highlighted and good looking skin color.

Nice job here, Congrats.

Great job!! Another vote here for telling how you made the grass.. The fence
really sets off the figures in front.. and nice attention to detail on the figure
painting (something i need to work on after seeing these). I like the composition
of the overall dio.. the small groupings of figures really fill it out. My initial
thought is that it portrays preparing to set up a defense, but the enemy is
not too close, kind of a relaxed feel to the scene. Any story behind the scene?
Well done!

thanks for all the comments guys. lestweforget, its artificial light from a couple lamps. eagle, i used static grass for the long grass around the fence/house. for the rest of it however i used a mix of woodland scenics turf and static grass and a little bit of lichen bits soaked in diluted olive green tamiya paint. i drybrushed it with naples yellow to bring out the detail on it.

the scene, which isnt portrayed too well with these pics, (theres two more in my gallery) is a squad of germans are passing through eastern europe, and are stopped at a house to plan a course of action in the coming hours. the far left soldier is peering into the house looking for anything good to eat or drink while the officer and rifleman look on awaiting the news, oblivious to the war. in contrast, over by the road, the co is telling the mg where to set up his gun to prepare for the enemy.
