Hello, dear modellers! Some time ago I have started a new project. This is very interesting armored car from Skoda. Unfortunatelly I have a lack of information about it. I have found only 2-3 dozens of photo. Almost all of them a very bad quality. No books, no survived vehicles. Only one replica.
So what I have already done. I removed all rivets....all of them and drilled 500 holes. I think the model from Takom has some mistakes with armor plates, some rivets mossing and so on. Better to look on photos. I don't know about Hobby boss model. It would be interesting to make a comparassion review. CMK has the most accurate model in resin.
All photos are only for discussion.

At first look here. Some not good things from Takom.

Greetings to all! Little update. I have finished all works with fenders. It wasn't easy to get one lvel of details because I have scored thick plastic.

I suggest to buy Hobby Boss model. The Takom model is too wide. hull plates are wrong and have incorrect angles. You may see it on this photo. Look at fender fixators and front armor plate. They are really different.

Then I have tried to do something with front/rear (as you like) lights. Takom gives us something...... This is WIP. I have just started but I already can see the difference.... i am a little bit dissapointed with all of this but i am keep working. I can't fix the hull but I can to do some extra details on it.

I now have a much higher level of interest and respect for this model than I used to have for what I would have called "the pickle car." You appear to be doing an absolutely outstanding job on the model and your close-up photography is excellent!

I don't envy you drilling the 500 holes.

I will be following with great interest!

Greetings! I have dicided to rework front lights. I've drilled the lights case and installed there the lights from ELf. Now I am satisfied with the result. And I've started to to fil the gaps with rivets. I will need more than 5 hungred. I am only on a half way or less now.

After a long pause some new progress. Chassis is not fixed. I have had to made some corrctions with DEF Model wheels. Also I did not find photos with Goodyear logo. I have decided to leave labels as is. Takom offers us to assemble upper hull from 4 parts!!! Terrible decision. Very hard to install on hull. It has taken me two weeks to do this operation correctly.

Thank you very much! You are too kind! I think people who do the models without buying kits are true modellers.Their works amazing and they only need plastic from Tamiya and some brass.
I try to do my best with all kits I work with.

"PICKLE CAR!!!" THAT'S GREAT!!!

I always called it "The Armored Race-Car"...

The "Land Submarine" would fit, too!!!

Great work, Artyom!!! I'm glad to see that someone is finally doing a progressive build of this unusual model!!! Keep us posted, Artyom!

With my friend permission. Here are some photos to compare Takom and Hobby boss models. As you can see, Hobby Boss is much more accurate model with good proportions. If you have an opportunety - choose Hobby Boss.I have bought Takom much more earlier than Hobby Boss released their model. So, nothing can save Takom. The hull is definetely incorrect. I will finish this model. If I only know about this....

More photos here to compare two models.

Greeting to all! To fill all rivets is not very funny exercise So I 've decided to work with some extra details in parallel.

Unfortunatelly Takom doesn't know what I am talking about

So what I have already done...

Little hatch with lock.
Hinges and holders on rectangular hatch.
Rings in front and on the back.
Door holders and keyholes.
Hinged inside hatches on the doors.
Inspection slits on perimeter.

More to come. There are still much work to do.

I’m going to enjoy this project so much Artyom, especially your amusing pot-shots at Takom! Very nice detailing, and what a crazy (yet strangely beautiful) vehicle - it looks like the result of a Design committee’s attempt to build a road-worthy midget submarine

Hello all! Unfortunately lack of time. Therefore very little but important progress.
Here are some photos. Two photos of assembled Takom test model below.

Takom has missed hinges to little hatches. All rivets are wrong. There were two types with different sizes.
I have started to work with michineguns. The bodies are from Aber. The rest wiil be my work with putty, brass and probably copper. As usual

Hello dear friends! Job has been done, this is final portion of photos.

After the vacation I will try to take a good pictures of the car. Look at the roof hatches. It seems that the comrades have no understanding at all what these hatches looked like, how they opened and how thick they were. It's not amusing me at all. This model is very-very poor.

By the way the hatches slide aside and were very thin. I also made lights in front and rear. Machineguns from Aber to A7V. I've tried to make them alike Schwarzlose. Did my best.

But I was very dissapointed about this Takom model. So I didn't make more efforts to scratch this model. I wish I have bought Hobby Boss, but I didn't. So please wait for final photoset.
