Hi guys,
I started Takom Panther D with interior and since it's time to start painting things, I need advice.
I have Ammo Interior colors set for German tanks and it gives Bright green color for gearbox. Is it OK? Can't find any color photos evidence for this.
Also, should the bottom and lower parts of interior be Rotbraun or some kind of very dark Gray?
I am aware that it has been discused many times and opinions vary.
Thanks

G'day from Down Under

I think you will find that the zimmerit pattern on the Takom Panther D identifies it as having been built by Daimler Benz, who used grey primer, not dark red. As for the gearbox, this has been the subject of discussions before, and I believe it has been generally that it too is grey. I use Vallejo Engine Grey on mine.

I think the most likely colour for the interior is what Real Colours of WW2 identifies as Light Grey/Hunter Grey, RAL 7009.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Rob

Thanks for reply mate. Yes, I think I will paint the gearbox gray, probably lighter shade than engine and bottom.
Unless someone comes with another info and gives me new nervous breakdown

For whatever it's worth go to You Tube Nickolas Moran "In the Chieftans Hatch' video on the Panther tank. Great interior views. All of his videos are great.

There are some instances where parts like the transmission are primed in dark green. Not sure if that is manufacturer-dependent or not.
