I just got Takom's Hanomag, transporter, and V-2 - so far nice looking kit (but no decals!) . Does anyone make the fire control and observation halftracks that usually accompany a launch. I have a Kubelwagon, a Kettenkrad, and a couple of 4 x 6 trucks, but I believe I would be needing the afore-mentioned vehicles as well for a proper launch dio.

Check out V2Rocket.com for full information on the launch vehicles. Also be aware Takom has the SS100 and Miellerwagen towing all wrong, the trailer was towed from the opposite end when moving to the launch site, and it was winched under the firing table. The box art is bogus.

After building all those special vehicles at least the launch facility is just a concrete pad surrounded by only grass and trees.

Don't forget the Deutsche Reichsbahn that provided transport to launching sites. Like in The Hague, Michael provided already a very informative youtube link in another thread, something about the colors of the rocket.
In the field or woods, a diorama in this scale will take an average living room with lots of communication lines, observation points and so on. Later in the war it was all or nothing and the Germans did it like in The Hague, a line of rocket on a lane with only some trees on both sides. Custom Scale provides a layout if you want to make such a realistic field or woods diorama. Will check for it, it is somewhere in my desk.

No one forbids lurking, so take your profit for some scratch building, the kit has it's price, but seems to be the best kit so far, although it's resin, around.
The launching stand has a long tradition of being discussed: correct? or not?There are some good links, Michael provided them already I think for super detailing.

You should also check out "Special Armour" (a branch of Special Hobby) which makes extra V2s with nice launch platforms, the Vidalwagen, the SS100 (more detail than the Takom SS100) and the liquid oxygen trailer. I think they were going to release the access ladder and the T-Stoff tanker, but I'm not sure they have yet. Academy makes a passable fuel tanker which could also be used. All these are 1/72 scale. I have the 1/35 Takom kit, but I've been thinking of downsizing to 1/72 scale. Modelcollect makes a very nice 1/72 V-1 with a launching ramp that I have, and I'm thinking of displaying the two together. 1/72 is the perfect scale for building a fueling or loading diorama. Again, I recommend V2rocket.com for some great information, probably the best on the web. And if you want first hand accounts from the developers and launch crews, the book "Hitlers Rocket Soldiers" is very good-- complete with original German order of battle charts for V2 launch units and vehicles at the end of the book.

I admit I failed to see that you were talking 1/72nd. All I can say is I had been up all night, sorry.

CMK Planet Model did a Sd.kfz. 7/3 Feurleitpanzer in 1/72nd scale, but I think it is now "out of production...
I think that you have to take a Revell Sd.Kfz 7 and to scratch built the rest...
You can find some of these scratch on internet, ans some time in 1/72nd...
here a picture with the "blue-print" of what you need...
Just take time to cut your scale drawing off paper before of plastic...

Thanks for the link, Kevlar...very useful. I'll keep the dio very abbreviated - the Takom set, two Academy Opal fuel trucks, a Kugelwagen (and/or Schwimmwagen), an SdKf 7, and a Mercedes 4 x 6, and a lot of little guys.

Just a brief comment: The Command & Control vehicle would be positioned a good distance from the launchpad anyway.
