My question is this. On the lower left side of the Pershing's turret, there are two brackets. I seem to remember them as being used for some kind of simple A-frame lift. On the turret top, on the right side, just in front of the commander's cupola, there is what looks like a lifting ring. But I remember it as being the anchor point for the A-frame, or a block & tackle. Can't find any pictures or reference to it on-line. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who knows if my memory is correct as to their reason for being there. And what the purpose was for this arrangement. My guess would be for repair or maintenance of the vehicle by the crew.

Found this in the Hunnicutt book "PERSHING".

Thanks Henri, Both for the quick response and the photos. That's what I thought I remembered those brackets being used for. Just wasn't sure what the actual set-up looked like.

Your welcome.
Sorry, Steve. My error in not realizing that they were two different responses to my question. Did not mean to slight you.
