I was doing some research on a new project - Modern German Armor - Gepard - and saw many photos of Leos and such with WFOR printed on their turrets... I know what IFOR & KFOR are but what is WFOR? I cannot find any info other than the photos...

WFOR stands for Wetina Forces, a fictional (small) country, used by the Bundeswehr for training purposes and scenarios. i.e. NATO helps little Wetina against a agressor (Seeland Forces).
All other countries in the east are now our friends (no Warsaw Pact), so we had to look for new, more neutral, designations for military exercises.

Thanks - you know, I surmised it was some fictional designation for wargames but wasn't sure... like the idea - hope they won the war
