Does anyone know exactly what this is? I know it's some type of variant on the M113 suspension, but am not sure of the exact model.

It is the M-114 APC. The gun barrel is another vehicle behind the 114.

It is not M114! M114 had only four road wheels on each side and was much smaller than this vehicle.

That is the M59 APC. The M113 replaced that beast...

The also made a 4.2" mortar carrier out of that chassis... the M84. Might have been an experimental "Zippo" as well. Had the M48/M60 low profile TC coupla with .50 cal on most. Very large APC/Target with underpowered gasoline engine... luckily, none ever saw combat but very effective during the riots of the mid to late 1960's. One in styrene would be most welcomed at least from this point of view but, would not be a big seller I'm sure. Years ago, someone scratched an M84 and wrote about it in FSM IIRC.

Two engines, IIRC.
The sucker is huge. You could drop the ramp and drive a jeep (M38/M38A1) into the beast. Hunnicut's Bradley book has a photo showing a jeep inside the APC, IIRC.
