What did you use for the parachute in the tree? It looks sculpted. Is it clay or some kind of foil?

Congrats for the nice build and thanks sharing the steps of building with us. I liked some parts of your dio more than the real photo.

Very well done. I think you've done a superbe job. The parachute came out well, they are very tough to duplicate.

Thanks for the feedback on my dio. Dustoff- I'll 'poke' out the eyes on the periscope
thanks for the tip!!
I used 2 seperate molds to make the parachute out of latex. Both were approx
8"x2" and i carved various degrees of ripples in them.. then applied 2 seperate
thin layers of latex to the molds.. I made 3 sections total from the 2 molds, cut
off the flash, then arranged them in an overlapping hanging loop. I used CA to
secure the sections as i went.. then attached lines with CA. I painted it by hand
after assembled ( airbrushing would have been better,, or even painting before
assembling). I think with more artistic talent i could have pulled off an even
better replica- my carving abilities are a bit lacking.. however it captured the ripples
alot better than the other materials i tried.
Thanks again for the feedback, and if you try this type of chute in the future
let me know.. more than happy to help... seeya
