Now that AFV Club is getting into the VN trucks maybe we can hope to see an M-123C 10 ton tractor and M-172A1 trailer in the future. And, possibly a D7E or Rome Plow for it to haul. A late model M-15A1 or A2 trailer would be nice also. I know, but an old Nam engineer can dream. Ha Ha. Wayne

I have the Tank Workshop M-123 and D7, and also the Real Model M-15A1 conversion set. Unfortunately the D7 is actually a D8 and as far as I've been able to find out they weren't used by the Army. Some D9s were used in the landclearing units, but the Army mostly used the D7 or some Allis Chalmers TDs. The Marines and SeeBees used an oddball dozer, but I've forgotten the name. Wayne

Hi Wayne

All hope is not lost for your D8 (got it in the stash too BTW...). Australian land clearing teams used many of them in Vietnam (D8H) :

The Marines used EIMCO dozers in Vietnam :

Thanks Frenchy, was not aware the Aussies had their own landclearing units. The Marine, Seebee dozer was an unusual beast. Wayne

I much rather have a M800 series truck from AFV club ie M813, M814, M816, M817, M827, M844/45 etc.

All fine, but I was referring to VN era trucks. Wayne

I would also love to see somebody come out with a kit for the M172A1. As a young Marine I drove the M123A2c with this trailer in Okinawa with 3rd Combat Engineers (1979-80). The dozers we had were Terex 8230s and Case 1150 front end loaders. I have seen a few great scratchbuilds of the M172 on these pages but I'm afraid I lack the skills of the accomplished builders who created them. I have also been unable to find models of the loads I hauled. I have the resin kit of the M123 but again have never built a resin kit.
