They came as a shock when I saw them at one hobby shop one day. Of course there's not a big variety, so I assume the idea is experimental. Question is, one of the colors is British Bronze Green, and I cannot decide if meant to be WW2 or postwar, since I would assume the former would get better sales.

Just looked it up on the Vallejo site and it said it's spray colors included 3 basic, 19 fantasy, 5 WWII AFV, 4 WWII infantry. Safe to assume WWII.

Hmmm....Acrylic spray paint??? Sounds interesting, I wonder how well that "skinny pocket cap" thingee will work. When they become available I'll probably give them a try. I've just now purchased a Vallejo Air "US WWII OD" set, and a set of basic Vallejo Air colors. I'm a "dyed in the wool" committed Mr. Color and Tamiya Laquers fan, and an old school dedicated Model Master Enamels fan, (I started with Pactra plastic square bottles back in 1959! Bu recently I decided to try the Model Air colors-- just to see what all the rest of you using acrylics are talking about. I've used a few water based acrylics before, (Aka. Polly-S, Guze- Sango and Badger color) but never had much success with them. But I'm willing to give the new generation a try. MMP is big in my local area as too, but they are pricey. Might have to try them if I get a chance too.

Vallejo IMHO is just not as good an airbrush model paint since it is a reformulated latex based artist acrylic. People will tell you all sorts of magical incantations to not have it clog, but why bother if there are better alternatives.
I was also a Mr Color fan until I had to do hairspray chipping. It is such a robust paint and the ability to reactivate it means you never waste any paint.
MMP is rather different than everything else. The most special thing about it that they don't advertise is that it has a rather weak paint film, you can even rub it off with water. This makes it a great paint for weathering and personally the only reason why I stock them.

G'day guys
I've been using Vallejo Air for the last few kits, and am very impressed with them. A couple of tips - 1) ALWAYS use 20% Vallejo Flow Improver and 2) only use it over Vallejo primer, as it tends to come off Tamiya primer very easily.
Regards
Rob

I haven't heard much about them since they hit the market. We have several cans at the store in a variety of colors, so far I've only seen one can go out the door and it was to a guy visiting from visiting from Alabama. Somehow, I don't think I'm going to be talking to him any time soon to get his feed back... They cost a bit more than the other rattle cans 4-6 dollars our price depending on the brand you choose.

Cans are much bigger, so the cost seems fine. Sprays well from both nozzles.....but unlike Tamiya paint, thinner will cause a big problem with the paint. I sealed first with Real color matt varnish and then was able to weather with my oil/thinner based weathering products.

i recently picked some up to give them a try. the spray cans spray exceptionally well, and would compare them to Tamiya spray cans. also, the amount you pay for the amount, is a much better price than something such as Tamiya. plus, you have the option of nozzles. the color line smells like laquer, and the clear is definitely acrylic, and smells of cat urine.
overall, if you like Vallejo's color for the standard military colors, then these are great options. I personally don't like their german dunkelgelb color, but that's just me, but feel that it works well for german gray
