I finally received the ATAK Zimmerit I ordered and it mentions using microscale micro liquidtape. I have never applied resin nor ATAK products, suggestions on how you install this product would be helpful

I've used superglue. Some people use white glue for initial positioning, and then affix with superglue.

Whatever, do not get rapid set. a true 60 second set would be Better. Give yourself some adjustment time.

Regular styrene glue will temporarily bond the resin to plastic - just long enough to properly place the zimmerit sections, then run a bead of CA around the edges to permanently fix them.

What all of them said,, plus,, some folks also attach pieces of the zimmerit prior to assembly to smaller sections or places that are likely to be hard to reach if you wait until you've built the kit. Some JpIV's and PzIV's have zim on the lower hull and I always put the zim on those early. The mantlet on Panthers is another spot.

Five-minute epoxy glue gives you plenty of time to position the resin Zimmerit, and it bonds well and fills gaps. Cyanoacrylate "super glue" will bond resin instantly (faster than almost any other material), and if you didn't position it perfectly, you're screwed.

My preferred method is to us white glue to get it positioned and then use thin superglue to tack down the edges.

I do exactly what it said. Liquidtape is a tremendously useful product that is worth having a bottle. it is very different from whiteglue and has much stronger tack.

I always us epoxy resin to attach ATAK zimmerit. I use the 5 minute type for small pieces; and 30 minute for large pieces.

I like to initially affix the "Zim" with the old-fashioned TESTORS "Tube-glue", or cyan "GEL" glue to properly position it. I then hit the "Zim" around the edges with the fast setting cyan, and that does it for me...
