Hi All,
This German Pak 40 ww2 dio was a few months ago.
Recipe
The figure's and equipment are from Dragon Models and is the Verfugungstruppe set #6309, the ammo crates are from Tamiya and are from set #35188 and the shells are from Verlinden and the Pak 40 is from Tamiya and is the old kit which is #35047.
The base is thick foam board and the cobblestone I have had in my parts box for years so I thought I would use it with the dio.
The ground work was done using a 80/20 mix of spakfilla and fine sand and then applied to the base. Once dry static grass was applied and left to dry then it was dry brushed to tone it down a little.
The fence is made using balsa wood and the bushes are from Woodland Scenics. The grass tufts and small bushes on the road I picked up from my local gaming shop.
Everything was painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints, Army Painter paints and Pastel chalks.

Nice work but I think you will find that the rods on the trail are for cleaning the bore rather than ranging as it is a direct fire weapon. Therefore they would be in unpainted wood rather than high vis stripes.
As it looks as though a few rounds have been fired the trail spades might have dug in a bit too.
I like the cam uniforms and the vegetation.

The setting looks great and I like the irregular shape of the base. Adding to what Robert noted, I might have scuffed the tires a bit to show road/surface contact (maybe with just a slightly lighter shade of paint). But it's another fine example of how these older kits still work great using some thought & creativity!

Cheers Jack, I like the irregular bases as it a nice change from the usual square or rectangle ones. I appreciate the feedback on the tyres mate thank you.

Great work! Just to echo the other comments, camo looks great, love the shape of the base and vegetation spot on.
Is the base a commercial offering or did you make it yourself? If you made it what did you use? I am looking for something other than square wood myself.

Thanks heaps scubatwo and the base is just thick foam board cut to shape using a model knife.

Cheers Pongo_Arm and yeah a little closer would have been better for the other two guys standing.
