I have two questions for this edition of "Help me with my Hanomag! 2.5": How do you guys paint the headlights on it, and how do you turn a 251/1 (Infantry carrier) into a 251/4 (Ammo carrier)? Thanks for your time.

The ammo carrier 251 had a sloping rear and roof over the crew compartment. The sloping rear had two large doors to handle the ammo. Photo's or drawings would be neccessary for the details and for the right amount of slope for the rear. There must have been roof hatches for the driver and radio operator.

Are you confusing the sdkfz 252 with the 251/4?
The 252 is based more on the sdkfz 250, not the 251.

i have to go work atm, so i cannot get too in depth right know.
Will check this later.

Here is the sdkfz 252. Biggles 2 was describing it.
sdkfz 252

The 251/4 was the same structure as the normal 251/1.
As for the interior of how it is setup, i canoot help you there.
Finding interior photos of a 251/1 is hard enough.
good luck.

I stand corrected! So the 251/4 had no roof over the rear section? Did it have ammo racks lining the length of either side? Or was ammo just piled up in it's transport containers or crates?

That's a good question Biggles. I have gone through 3 books, 2 of them on the 251, with no luck. It is unfortunate that most books on 251s really only cover the exterior and just what the different models are.

Hey guys, I think that I can answer my own question. Up in Auburn (IN), there's this great museum that has a whole heck of a lot of vehicles ( http://www.wwiivictory.org/ ) There's over 150 vehicles, I think. I'm betting that the Sdkfz. 251/1 and/or Sdkfz. 251/4 in there somewhere........Thanks for your time.

Edit: Oh, also, look in the "Search Forum", and check for "You gotta see this!"
