Hi All,
8TH SS Cavalry Division, Florian Geyer - Taking Fire 1:35.
Recipe
Figures/Horses - the upper body of the figures and equipment are from Master Box # 3583 and the lower legs are from Tamiya # 35053. The horses are from Master box 3550 and the saddle and roll on the back are from Tamiya #35053.
The reins and slings were made by painting paper and then cutting to width and length and gluing into place. The figures and horses were painted and weathered using Vallejo.
Base - is made using balsa wood cut to size and glued together, the soil is a mix of spakfilla and sand with Vallejo's medium brown and Beige Brown mixed in and then applied to the base. The grass tufts are from Army Painter and the shrubs are from my local hobby shop.

GREAT ACTION going on here! SOOO welcome as far as being so different from the usual Panther or Tiger "with the Crew staring off into the distance" and "the Commander is pointing at something, somewhere"...
I LIKE IT!!!

Using horses (or any other animal) as a central element of the action is rarely done, and you've really conveyed the action in the title!! I recall a dio from the old Military Modeler mag, where the builder used a wild boar. A German soldier shot, but only wounded, the boar, and it was chasing him back towards an Sdkfz9, where his comrades were cheering him on.

You really packed it in to that small dio !
Outstanding work, you really captured the sense of movement.
Great color modulation of the horses too.
