Hi All,
This little 1:35 scale WW2 dio of a German NCO Fallschirmjager invading the low lands in May 1940 was the first diorama I did last year after a 14yr break from military modelling
The figure and parachute are from Zvezda and is kit #3628 and comes wth another 4 figures but I just wanted to build the figure and chute only to see what it is like.
The quality with the Zvezda kits is amazing the details are nice and crisp and hardly no flash and the kit also comes with the string for the chutes ropes.
I painted and weathered the figure and chute using Vallejo paints and the base was done using Tamiya's Diorama Texture paint (Soil Effect). The soil effect is great and is a paint and and fine grit mixed in with it and it becomes a thick paste which I applied with a brush.
Once dry I then dry brushed it with Vallejo Tan Earth and the added the tufts which are from Army Painter and the bushes are from Woodland Scenics.

I agree with Joe that "you really captured the moment," and that the chute & the figure's pose look right on! But I'm not sure Zvezda got the scale of the shroud lines right cause they look a bit heavy/thicker compared to a number of pics & newsreels I checked. On the last three close-up photos, I was trying to imagine all of those lines, plus the chute, being stuffed into the troopers pack, and it doesn't seem to match. Otherwise, I think it's a fine vignette.

Thanks heaps Jack and I totally agree with you about the lines and I got another kit so I'll be using sewing string for it to make the lines more realistic.
