What does one do when he just turned eighteen and received his first paycheck? Obviously having never dealt with resin metal or pe one does buy a kit made of kiograms of the mentioned materials. A year after a break because of school i finally start my biggest project. A diorama consisting of a full resin Accurate Armour`s German U-Boat Type VIIC in scale 1:35 (U552->Roter Teufel), additionally Accurate Armour`s Dockside in addition many verlinden products aswell as accessories. Considering i have never glued and painted anything out of resin or white metal i am terrified and excited at the same time. Everything you see is for now setup temporarily and will probably altered. It is a second hand kit as a new one is not available anymore and way above my budget. There may some parts be missing or glued wrong. Only the big parts have been glued by the previous owner so the best is still left for me Hope i can save most of it. Not only have i never dealt with resin and white metal parts in addition i have never seen such badly made instructions. It is basically a geussing game as i cant distinguish any parts on the manual so if you see something that looks wrong please correct me, I am new to naval aswell.
I started by completing the two 2cm flak`s that came with the kit. Working with the materials it does not seem as something different than plastic. Some of the attachment points and the instructions are terrible but geussing where the pieces should go are as much fun as solving a puzzle.
Than i proceeded by making 8.8cm Deck Gun.

White metal and resin! And those so-called instructions too! Not for the faint of heart....
I wonder how those deck guns didn’t totally rust up when it was time to dive, dive, dive?

Apparently the open ends of the guns were capped to prevent water ingress, and all exposed metal was heavily greased.

Ok the guns were quite simple to make as they did not consist of many parts and they were seperated in bags. Moving onto the rest of the U-boat, can not wait for more puzzling

Ninety minutes later and i found the 6 pieces for the cable cutter i think that`s how it`s called? I imagine doing the railing will take a month at least.
Thought the bottom parts were longer than the first two so I spend ages looking for bigger parts being fooled the whole time.
Gluing time.

Easter hass arrived so i have the chance to move on with the build. Completed the vertical riggings sadly the horizontal ones are either lost or were never included, in consequence i will have to pre-cut my own wire and finish the rigging:
Managed to glue the cable cutter in the bow area in place:
Also an overview photo of whats happening overall, sadly i am having a hard time photographing these large areas :
