I know this set says U.S Marines, my question is can they be used as U.S. Army infantry? And if so, would it be the DCU pattern?

I would like them in a diorama with a Bradley I'm building.

Thanks in advance!

Hi;

There is no reason why you could not use them for A Army Dio; Your best Info would be just look at pictures that you can find on UTUBE and gather enough for your Idea ! Your only problem mite be if there are markings on there BDU'S showing unit markings !

CHEERS; MIKE.

Check your time period and compare body armor. There are differences in the body armor the Army and USMC use. The armor evolved over OEF/OIF

Check out these from Master Box http://mbltd.info/figures/1-35-scale/modern-wars-era/35170.html

Yes, they actually better represent Army troops than USMC. The plastic does not really match the picture. The pic shows USMC-specific uniforms with upper arm and lower calf pockets, and M16A4s which the Army doesn't use. The plastic has figures in DCUs w/out the arm or calf pockets and normal M16A2s and M4s as used by the Army. They are also wearing IBA body armor that was used up to about 2006.

Great info here, thanks for posting.

I have a question regarding some Dragon figures. Can these two sets be used for the USMC in Iraq/Afghanistan in 2003/2004 or only good for the 90's?

Please note that the first set here seems to have chemical suits only used in the first invasion days of 2003 into Iraq. I was not there, but hope others can help? Thank you for posting. Following closely

The Big Red One set is wearing older MOPP chemical suits that were worn in Desert Storm (ODS - '91). It is only good for '80s through the late '90s. In the Iraq invasion of '03, a newer suit known as JSLIST was used. They are also wearing the older PAGST flak vest as well.

The Modern US Marines set are perfect for early Iraq invasion and a few years after/ early A'stan. They are also fine as Marines or US Army soldiers.

Thanks for the replies, greatly appreciated!

I was going by the HMMWV photo below and was hoping the MOPP suits were the same in the Dragon figure set. I can't see the style of MOPP suits as they are all inside the HMMWV but you can see they are wearing MOPP suits just wasn't sure if the Dragon figures were suitable for 2003.

The MB figures should be fine with the Bradley.

The JSLIST is a little different and has an integrated hood. It also has different velcro enclosures as well.

You can see the folded down hood at the back of the HMMWV gunner above, and on these guys below.
