Looking for some top secret. classified info. The Russian Bumerang 8X8, anybody know where the exhaust is on this beast? There are two vents on the top, right side. Logical, seeing that is where the engine is at. (Though they could be intakes.). There is also a vent, to the rear, on the opposite side. Looks the part, but the exhaust system would have to take along trek to get there. Posted this on the Russian side but no reply. Guess the FSB hasn't got any elections to hack so they are screwing with modelling sites.

FAIK, the exhaust is located to the left rear of the turret, and blows out to the left. It's about the most logical option going. There are a couple of photos which seem to show a bit of sooting on that vent, so... And, there is an interesting video going around the Web that shows the insides of the Bumerang... there is a rather large shielded duct running across the roof of passenger compartment behind the turret over to the left top side about where that putative exhaust port is located - so this duct may be part of the exhaust system...
I know the feeling of frustration and uncertainty about some of the functional details presented on some of these newer Russian-kits... I just built Panda's Kurganets-25 IFV kit - pretty nice in most ways. There are large screened vents on the top rear deck of the K, on both sides, and large louvered vents facing rearward on the rear hull plate, either side of the main personnel hatch. I'll suppose that those louvered rear vents are the exhaust ports... I've looked at every Kurganets video and pic I could find, but there is no clear indication that these actually ARE the exhausts - no soot or smoke trails to be seen. So one is left with just "reasoning", sort of like your quest for the Bumerang exhaust port!
Cheers! Bob

I'm not sure this would help, but I guess it would be hazardous to cover the exhaust with a tarp...
...this would mean the exhaust is on the front right corner of the hull top (à la M113...)

Something else that doesn't help is most of the photos are of the right side, and from ground level. Seeing all these 8 wheelers seem to share the same DNA, would the lay out for the Rosomak , Stryker and the likes offer any clues ?

By the way, pay attention - on the frame with the video is not a demonstrator and not a prototype for the parade, which makes "Panda", but a real prototype undergoing tests, with a full set of equipment and protection systems. Do you see what is under his fluffy "rags" (apparently, they use pieces of protective coating "blackthorn")?

Right-front top - makes sense! Yeah... Covering an exhaust port with a tarp and driving around probably wouldn't work out well...

Thanks all. Any thoughts on what the vent at the rear is then? Figure it must be an exhaust of some sort. With no screen over it and facing up all sorts of leaves and crap would collect init. I'd think it's not an intake. Part of the NBC system? Cooling for the electronics?
