I read about the author on Amazon and one person said his book "US Uniforms Of World War Two" was quite informative and full of illustrations. It is. It's an old book but get a copy if you can.

I treasure my copy of the World War II Order of Battle, by Shelby Stanton and bought my copy years ago on the bargain shelf at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC. This book details all US Army units and formations from both the Active Duty and National Guard with historic information placing the units in context. This has been a tremendous help for my modeling and diorama projects featuring NY National Guard units in both theaters during the war. I'm talking from division down to battalions, infantry, armor, field artillery, tank destroyers, cavalry and more.
