There are some walkaround pics of a Philippine Army one here :
https://www.facebook.com/1548733742048308/posts/pmc-lvth6-walkaround-by-vern-veron/2261585914096417/You'll notice that the pictured vehicle is fitted with two types of roadwheels : one is the type usually seen on USMC amtracs, the other is the one found in the AFV Club LVTP5A1 kit (the "ribbed" one) :
AFAIK, the Amusing Hobby kits are yet to be released...But maybe I'm wrong

Received email from Hobby Easy - my kit is in the mail today.
As far as the roadwheels go, there is a correction set for the earlier style on Shapeways. Pricey but the detail is awesome and if you're doing an H6 in Vietnam you'll need the earlier wheels.

Hi Daniel
I know about Mike's wheel set (and I know you're the one to be thanked for that as well
![](../../modules/SquawkBox/images/smilies/wink.gif)
) but it seems to me that it doesn't include enough wheels for a whole amtrac running gear (or maybe I read the description wrong...
![](../../modules/SquawkBox/images/smilies/wink.gif)
)

Hello, Henri-Pierre!
Not to be a "wise-guy", but yes, this kit has been in stock with various Ebay vendors for nearly a month, now...
The "blah-blah-blah has has been "quiet" over this kit because it really is a "niche"-item. Uproar over any kit on THIS site is nine-times-out-of-ten generated over the release of yet ANOTHER Panther or Tiger. The only exceptions have been the two up-coming 1/35 Sherman kits...
THERE! I've SAID IT! Now rake me OVER THE COALS AGAIN!!!

Mike included all you can afford. To do the whole bus would cost a kidney.
All joking aside, you are correct you need more then one set to complete the model. I forget the amount for one kit but for two kits that I have it was around $300. For me that is outside the budgeted fun for the build, YMMV.

Just to be sure Mike's great set was a must-buy for Vietnam amtracs, I've double-checked my LVTP5 reference file and I've came across at least two period pics showing the "AFV Club style" wheels in Vietnam

Safer option than the unknown Amusing Hobby release (some of their kits are far from accurate...).

No idea, but if I remember correctly they announced it shortly after the LVTH-6 announcement.

That'll be a good starting point. It appears to be more of an LVTP5A1 modified to an LVTE1 rather than an actual production LVTE1. LVTE1s did not have the cooling outlets on the sides and had a modified engine decking. Still, it will be an excellent starting point with the blade and launcher.

Is this thing still around? Would make for a great project if there were enough photos showing the whole thing.
