The newest LVT to roll into my stash is AFV Club's LVTH6A1, ordered from Hobby Easy. Shipping was super fast! I now have a "spare" LVTP5A1, for which I had purchased the LVTH6 resin conversion.
I don't know what or where the line is between having a stash and being a hoarder but, for time being my AmTrac COLLECTION has grown - again.
Prior to the new How-6 arriving I was unsure as to what to do with the conversion. Surprisingly, the new How-6 kit comes with many marking options. For a bit of variety I plan to build the conversion as a Phil-Mar How-6 in the urban camouflage. It will not receive the PE, Spade Ace tracks, interior or 3D-printed road wheels. I'll save all the goodies for the LVTP5A1 and LVTH6A1 kits, granted I'll have to scratch build a good chunk of the How-6 interior. My library of original TMs should make that chore a little easier.
Now, armed with a plan the P5 and How-6s return to the stash until the line of LVTs and AAVs ahead of them are completed.




I should include proof I build models to help dispel the "hoarder" bit. This is the P5 I built and gifted to an AmTrac'r on recruiting duty in Texas.

The older kit is lurking in my stash.
I wanted to build with closed hatches and there were sinkmarks on the outside of the "roof" hatches and I didn't feel like I was ready for the challenge back then. Maybe time to revisit that kit now ....

True but, it might be a tad simpler than the suspension on this beast.
I've been digging through images of the Phil-Mar How-6s. They added spare track blocks to the bow. They appear to be welded on, must be worn out blocks. Fortunately I can rob my other kits for the "spare track armor" for the Phil-Mar build.

It might jump ahead in line. Working on a P7A1 circa 1993 that I'm dumping a good bit of detail into. Its the old Tamiya kit but I'm adding EAAK to dress her up and practice my rust skills. That stuff rusted something crazy.

The first one, that's the winner! Just enough to be interesting without being so difficult as to cause a headache. They all seem to have a mix of roadwheel styles, not sure yet if I'll add some of the 3D-printed ones to mix it up. Would be good practice with those though.

I have a P5 data plate from one of the Phil-Mar tracs. They allowed me to remove and keep it from one of the derelict P5s. They picked us up from port and drove us to their base after Exercise Balikatan 2000.

Seems the urban camo scheme has changed around a bit.

That is bad arse! Wish I was a better painter or there was some mask/decals for it. Seems like something DN Models might do.

I guess the guy who designed this scheme was a diehard Tetris fan....
