IBG makes impressive models! I thought it was 1/35 at first. If not for the thickness of the spare road wheels, there is little obvious to give it away that it is 1/72. It builds up into a beauty.

Great video. You did a great job on the build and weathering.

Thanks a lot... The video goes a bit out of focus at some points where the camera auto focuses on the background instead, quite frustrating, so glad to hear you think it looks OK.
It was fun to do, and I might do another, though I'll be honest and say I'm slightly disappointed that it's not had that many views compared to the amount of time it takes to create it, even the photo and text reviews I've normally done have had more and they are quicker to produce. (Not sure how some modelling videos gets tens of thousands of views in a single day...)

For what it is worth Matthew it deserves to be among those videos with thousands of reviews.

This was an incredible build and a very good video. Something to aspire to...
The autofocus issue can be solved with fixed focus; although you need to be careful about not moving the model out of the focus of the camera. (Use a small aperture with good lighting - it will make your field of depth relatively large.) Alternatively set the autofocus on the center of the field, and keep the model there.
The views are a different thing... It seems like you need to get a critical mass (as in everything). I noticed with youtubers: for years they produce videos which only a couple of peolpe see only, and then some (a very few lucky ones) suddenly take off. Claus Kellerman is one example for this: I was watching his funny and explicit tirades about World of Tanks and %ssholes which had about 40 views altogether, and suddenly boom, now he is a famous youtuber who makes a living out of this. There is no real rhyme or reason of who gets to be the successful one... So keep doing these; they are great. We appreciate it.

Thanks very much Andras for your nice comments about the model and the video. Yes, the model came out pretty well in the end, though it had its moments when I thought it was heading for disaster... I didn't video some of those bits.
On the focus issues, the camera I use is a Canon Legria mini, so the settings are fairly basic. I found the hard thing is actually doing real modelling (rather than pretend, like when you're taking a still photo) while keeping my hands in the right place, either in terms of focus when the camera is further away, as it has more opportunity to focus on other things that are in shot, or within frame when the camera is much nearer - in this latter case, most of what I shot was in focus, but several times I had only succeeded in filming the back of my hand or nothing at all. Being short sighted I have a tendency to keep bringing my hands closer to my eyes. Trying to model or paint while keeping an eye on the view finder is also quite tricky.
I am trying to make another, in between other review builds, using the wide angle lens which I'm hoping will enable me to miss nothing in terms of framing, and be focused and high definition enough to be able to crop in during editing. Bit hard to tell until I actually come to edit, and I kind of like to just get in with the build while it's in progress.
Yes, I get your point on the views thing, seems to have a somewhat random element to it, like all such things, I suppose.
Thanks
Matthew

@firstcircle – Matthew,
Well you’ve managed to get your feet wet on using the video as a means of showing us how you are building your model projects and you’ve done an outstanding job of it! I liked the lighting, sound, music, close-ups and use of painting techniques, nothing better than to watch it in action as you go and learn. I do encourage you to continue with this new-found adventure, it only gets easier with practice. Stepping from video reviews to modeling wasn't that hard was it?
You also have some very impressive pictures too. I must say that protective armor around the turret looks somewhat like a large sized shopping cart placed upside down, without the wheels, on top of the vehicle! A very nice kit made nicer with your scratch made add-ons, after-market cables and tracks.

Thanks very much Eddy, your feedback much appreciated, plus you're the first person to mention the music - what a learning experience that was . I started messing around with the app on my phone thinking this will never work, and ended up with something that sounded kind of OK (to me anyway), at least much better than I expected.
Yes, feet got wet, have to get them back in the water again soon before I forget how everything works again.
