My Fellow Modelers,

The last couple of months have been hard for all of us !

With great respect I watched you efforts in order to race towards the bridge, to capture and ....to hold it...... A lot of us tried, but only few succeeded.

I'm proud that such a large group wanted to be involved in the Rememberance of Operation Market Garden. When Eagle started this Campaign, he wanted people to start reading about the original Operation....to create themselves an image of how it was like back in September 1944. In that perspective, I think he did a great job..... an awful lot of you guys opened up Market Garden related books, and started reading. I'm thankful that you took the time to get involved. I hope you enjoyed this Campaign as much as I did.

Now, after our withdrawal to the other side of the river Rhine, we're safe again. Some of you will enjoy some Rest & Recreation...others got packed and are already on their way again in a new Campaign. I'm proud that I have served with all of you in this wonderful Campaign, and I would like to thank you one more time for joining it.

I'm proud to announce that 17 of you succeeded their mission !! A Wonderful number. Those 17 really deserved their Campaign Ribbon for succeeding in the Remember Market Garden Campaign.

Filled with pride I hand out the Remember Market Garden Campaign ribbons to :

Bravo for the wonderful men of the RMG Campaign !

Congrats folks, some nice work indeed

But .... is it not 18 instead of 17, or is Eagle himself MIA?

Eagle was doing too many things at a time, had an accident in his cellar and... well not in time for the finishing line.

Although I wasn't able to sumbit an entry, I achieved my personal goal, the reason why I started this campaign...... learning people a little more about the actual Operation as a respect to those brave men of the real Operation Market Garden.... theirs is the glory and I think this Campaign is a tribute to them.

I wish to tank the campaign leaders. They did an outstanding job.
I had a lot of fun and learned a lot about history. It took me five motnhs to complete this, but I'm glad I did. So I'll wear the ribbon with pride.

I wonder how many started the campaign and how many returned. Seems like the casualty rate could have been as high as Arnhem!!

Thanks to the Campaign Leaders for the great time.

This was my first campaign, and I'm proud to have been part of it especially as the campaign management impressed me enough to copy most of it for Overlord2004. On that subject, and for those who are now suffering from withdrawal symptoms from the research, it's now April and Overlord2004 ends June 5th .......

Ola People

Here is the second in Command again. I wish to thank all the participants finished or not for Joining this campaign and making the last months very enjoyable. Great posts great pics. I have said it before but this Campaign generated some very good dio`s and i`m very proud to be a part of this. I`m also very happy that a lot of you people Started to do research on what happened In Holland in September 1944 a part of a battle that isn`t much covered and certainly not built in Models and dio`s.

Those who got the Ribbon deserved it without doubt. And I`m glad that Peopel liked the management of this campaign and that they are copying it for other campaigns. Taking this over is a lot of work I will warn you but when done correctly it will be awarding. Me and Danny Did our best to keep the spirit going and this is the reward for it.

Again I want to thank all the participants you have been a great bunch of guys

Wow, was that a good time and there's some outstanding work here.
I finally learned how to do a Dennison!

But the real props of this campign go to management which kept this process going the right direction and kept interest high by keeping it alive on the discussion forum.

I must also say I got to meet a lot of our Dutch modelers through this and they all seem like a great group of people. Perhaps I have a new country to pull for in the World Cup....

Thanks guys!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the campaign managers again. I had to really push myself to get things done under the wire but I was caught up in this campaign since it was set up. Market Garden has always been my "pet" battle of WW2 and I thought I knew all there was to know until I joined this campaign and started hitting the reference links that were always posted. I went to the library and got "It Never Snows in September." (If you haven't read this book, you need to.) I learned a lot and had a great time.
There is always a lot of attrition in the campaigns. Maybe it is fate that we had 17 people finish, since OMG kicked off on the 17th of September...
Thanks again.

Shaun

As I've said in other threads - This campaign has been wonderful. The idea of operational research was a great catalyst and if you measure success of this campaign based on the number of people who know who Frost is or know where Arnhem is or know the battle that the movie A Bridge To Far is based on or know how an air drop jeep is customized... instead of the number of completed dioramas then the completion ratio is 100%

I am saddened by one thing - our leader here was unable to finish his shadow box. That would have been a spendid completed project. I for one will be watching for images of the completed box in the future

A big thanks from me must go to Eagle himself right from the start he helped me decide on a plan and where to got for info.
Another big thanks must got to PLMP110, who out of the kindness of his heart sent me the two figures for the dio and some other bits and bobs.

Though not a part of the Campaign (due to other comaign commitments) i was following this with much interst. I have to say that it was one of the best campaigns, cause it motivated people to search , read learn and then build. And with such a base behind building modelling becomes almost a science art . So i wanna Congratulate u and also say that it was a very nice ceremony for the ribbon award.
Bravo to the Capmaign Leaders and may all others follow their example and also improve ..

G'day guys.
I would really like to thank the managers of this campaign for creating this great experiance for me, and all of us who took part, and those of us who finished. Ths was my first campaign ( i started coverup AFTER i had finished RMG) and I learnt so much by taking part.
I would really really like to thank Faust for all his help with this campaign, co without him i think i wouldve ended up going home in a wooden box, like so many of our comrades during this campaign
So cheers to you guys, to the creators, to the participators, and those of you who proved with me, that it wasnt a bridge to far after all!

I'm throwing in my Thanks to Eagle and Faust also.. A great campaign!!
This was by far the largest and most complete diorama I have finished
to date and the campaign itself was a large part of the my success in
finishing! From the newspapers by Faust and the pictures of the trip by
the Dutch group, to the frequent updates by campaigners and some dios
finished early, there was alot of inspiration all the way thru.. Just alot of
extras in addition to the modeling to keep it fresh and fun.. Thanks again
for a great time.

I would like to chirp a little as well.
I didnt join in either as I had already too much on the go.
But I have been reading a lot of the postings for this all throughout. Great campaign leaders, great follow through and most importantly, great finished dios with the possibility of a few more to come.
Congrats to all involved and having an exceptional topic on the go for the last few months!

I really enjoyed this campaign as well. Eagle and Faust did an outstanding job of organizing the thing and keeping those of us who finished on course. I am ashamed to admit that before I researched the operation, I knew nothing of what went on in and around Arnhem. So Eagle, you did accomplish your mission. I have a new respect for the men who fought in Operation Market Garden.

I think the real enjoyment came from watching those of you who documented the process of your dioramas. From the construction and then destruction of houses, construction of windmills, and the uniform conversions to make Dutch underground fighters. My hat is off to all.

Patrick
