I was reading my old Panzerjager in Action book and noticed that there was a paragraph regarding the Jagdtiger (Hunting Tiger). It said that there were two different chassis used, a Henshel one with 9 roadwheels per side and a Porche one with 8. Which ones do the Tamiya kit and DML kits represent?

I belive DML do kits of both the Porsche and Henchel versions, and I assume Tamiya's is the Henchel version as it would be based on their Henchel turreted King Tiger. I have no info to hand to verifiy the details of the Tamiya kit.

Also the Jadgtiger chassis was streched slightly from the King tigers so thats another error on the Tamiya kit

DML has 3 Jadgtiger kits: Dml kit #6050 is the Henschel version, no side skirts, out of production, kit#6051 is the Porsche version, with side skirts, re-tooled and just re-released and kit #9036 'Late' Henschel, out of production, no skirts and transport tracks. Like I said, the Porsche version has just been re-released and there is a pretty decent article about it at Missing-Lynx.

The Tamiya Jagdtiger was an old old kit, it used the same chassis as their Konigtiger, so it's too short hence, not correct.

The DML has 3 version as Doc had clearly illustrated. And they are of good built, I will know, because I am building the Henschel one now.... :-) And the DML Jagdtiger is of correct length that reflects the stretched hull of the Jagdtiger.

Hi Jeff,

Last time I checked, I still saw a DML Henschel jagdtiger lying around in the hobby shop I go to. Interested to get one?
