Is it me or is there no way you can build the scene shown on the boxart from this set? The two guys with the Thompson and the BAR build up fine but the issue I have is with the other two.
The figure depicted throwing the grenade has a straight left arm on the boxart but a bent one (part 51) in the set. This isn’t really a big deal for me as the arm does look natural, just not what I expected.
However the other figure shown holding the door open with his right arm is more of an issue, it simply cannot be built into that pose with the arms supplied in the set. (I’ll call this pose A). There is an alternative pose suggested for this figure which has him holding his rifle up across his chest, (call this pose B).
To me it looks like they supplied the right arm from Pose B and the left arm from Pose A, meaning that neither can be built successfully. This is a problem when the boxart and the (computer generated) instructions on the back show something completely different to what is in the box.
I know Masterbox have been guilty of some artistic licence in the past when it comes to their boxart vs kit contents but this one certainly shouldn’t have got past their QC build checking.
I would love to know if anyone has actually built this set and hear your thoughts.

I believe the arm for the figure throwing the grenade is part 50 not 51. I think 51 is the arm used by the figure holding the door open.

It doesn't help that this figure is the only one on the box instructions without numbers showing for its limb parts.

Edit. - I see there are two versions of the figure holding the door open. One with a helmet covered in netting, which relates to the same figure on the instructions with normal helmet. Not very clear instructions from that aspect.

Edit Two - Actually the more I look at it the more confused I get. I think I'll leave it up to someone else to solve, my head hurts now....

Okay, another go at this

Looking at the schematic of the sprue there is only four sets of arms on the sprue I can see, so no alternative for the arms as you describe, its just the helmets and weapons, I think....

Yep, that seems to be the issue Alan. What they are trying to do is use the same arms to create two very different poses.

I'll put up some pictures later of the actual parts and the poses MB suggest so you can see how it looks.

part 50 is the grenade thrower's right arm, 51 is his left (straight on the figure picture but bent on the sprue layout and in reality)

I like the subject but can't really help with the issue. I can suggest using other helmets though as these look pretty wonky. Live Resin also offers some superb Garand rifles.
