anyone interested in a softskin build. Either as a campaine or a Groupbuild.
All era's all countries as long as it was a softskin cargo or personnel transport type.
This would exclude anything with armor or not designed specificly as cargo or personel carrier.
No start or finish times at the moment as I am only after expressions of interest.
comments please and if you are interested leave your name and a possible model you would like to do for it.

Oh man, I've got a pretty full plate. Warships of the Atlantic, Unsung Sisters, Incoming, Overlord. I've been waiting for an excuse to do the duce and a half from Tamiya. I'm also very campaign ribbon motivated. Get it to be an actual campaign and I'll probably join.

Even though I am still engaged in a couple of campaigns, I would join a softskin build. You could have several subcategories like staff cars (Jeeps, Kubels, VW, HMMWVs), floaters (GPA, DUKW, Schwimm.), haulers (Dragon Wagon, cargo trucks, ambulances).

I am interested. Would a M151-A1 be okay? I'm trying not to buy any more models until I build most of what I have on the shelf right now, in the interest of keeping domestic relations cordial, if you get my drift!

Could we start it now? I started my chevy gun tractor last night! Some fit issues with it but there is so much detail. I love this little kit.
The only thing Im planning on it pulling a 105mm gun!

Howdy my dear 'Roo,
First off, I think it's a superb idea for a "SOFTSKIN" build! Kinda like my ARTILLERY Campaign, it's one of those subject's that I think is severely under represented, and that a surprising (I'm sure) amount of people would really enjoy!
I'm pretty sure you know what my answer would be to your attempt's at signing up conscript's for your Softskin Build...right?
Even though my plate is full, I can always find time for things that are a wee bit 'different'.
So, with that in mind, what to build................ ................ ...........................
O.K., I've been dying to build an ambulance, so maybe a Chevy 15CWT based scratchbash of an Australian (that's a pint of Foster's BTW) ambulance. Like this one:
Or, I've been considering this one as something I could build, enter at shows, and be pretty bloody certain there wouldn't be another one on the table next to me!
But, would this still be considered a "Soft"skin?.....nothing much "soft" about it. Although I really dig the 'ragtop' look!!
Of course, I could do this one.....but I don't think I would be able to get the wheels and tyre's right.
Whada youse guys think!!

I’ve never been able to get a “soft-skin” to look right (in my opinion). So, I gotta say I’d be interested. It would give me another chance to redeem myself. Not to mention, it sounds like a lot of fun.

Another campaign? Lay-out the rules & reg & I might just jump in on it. Not that I'm not into anything.... I still have to start my project for the Incoming campaign though.

Yes, if it becomes a campaign, you are in the green! I believe that the minimal articipation level for a campaign mustbe 10, and with me, you are one more ahead!!
I think I'll do a 1/72 scale model T...... very tiny, and a very soft skin!

What a spectrum!! Overlord to Heavy Artillery to Softskins. I'm sure that should this become a campaign it would not conclude until end of year 2004 since we already have a number of other campaigns ending June and Oct. Given that, I would probably give it a go although I am not sure what I would build.

I'd love to hop on in here as well! I'm suffering from 'modeler's block' something fierce, so at my LHS this morning, I picked up some sort of a WWI Ford truck that I'm planning on getting built this weekend. One of those kits where you don't have any reference for and you just don't give a dang if it is correct or not. Just something to have fun with (I hope!).

Ooooooo, I need a "can I start it now?" as well as I've been able to knock out quite a bit of this WW1 Ford truck on this rainy, gloomy, chilly, only coming up for chow kind of Saturday afternoon/evening.
Anyone have any good links for WWI Ford Trucks handy?

Hmmm....I throw my full support & weight behind the Build effort, and I even choose Australian service vehicle's exclusively, and not a peep from my good mate 'Roo!...... ......that hurt's..... ....that really hurt's my delicate feelings......... ..................HA!!.......turnabout is fair play Cliff!
Just kiddin ya mate, just trying to get ya back for making me feel so bad the last time...
Actually, I was also considering another potential 'softskin' as well....a certain resin C & C body vehicle designed for the Tammy GMC kit provided by a bloke who wears a hat who is constantly hit by a high wind from the left!! :-)
