Hello all.
Could not resist to start this one. Still a lot on the bench that needs a finish, but hey I'm on a holiday for 3 days, so that will be a major start.
Work so far went like a dream. This is definitely one of Zvezda's best kits ever. Just a little flash here and there, but no nasty seems to remove. That makes it a lot of fun, so here I am now. Chassis build and first part for the conversion in place from Plus Model. Excellent fit overall and the detail is just nice.

Front suspension and grey resin parts from Plus Model to replace the kit parts.

Parts that hold the Buffers in place. Nice resin again.

Backside is a little gem in itself. What a lot detail for a mid price kit.

Just watch the wood details.

Still debating if I will use the mudguards on the back. Some photo evidence show them.



Did some more work already, have to check for details I missed and then it will get some primer.

Looks like you are off to a good start. Can you show a pic of what you are building and maybe what kit you are starting with.

Well here is the kit from Zvezda and the conversion set from Plus Model I'm using.


And these will be my subject.

The trucks were coupled back to back to tow the wagons.

The road wheels are still mounted in the pictures below.

Comes in very handy to move the trucks on the road to where they were needed.

Rail Trucks were widely in use over the whole of occupied Europe for shunting, replacing the normal shunters.

So more work done today. Most of the chassis and loading bed is finished and got a primer coat.







All was sprayed with Mr. Color 1500 Grey.

So off I went to the market and had a nice Beer and some Thai Food.
More to come later this week.
Tomorrow I have some guests over from The Netherlands, just to celebrate my birthday, so nice.

G10 box car is old IRONSIDE, poor model, many lack rivets etc.

Well hello. That is some nice modeling. I like the Persil layout. Are the models in resin? The brake system is nice with all the essential lines and levers, good job!
Just yesterday I found a link for wet decals. To vary with wagon numbers and cities it could be very interesting. Also commercial wagon layouts are numerous.

I understand from their site they also have service for custom scale.

All decals are my project and I print only for me;)
most decals in models have errors (font, descriptions, etc.)
I have ready next few to next model (4 ypes for G10, new decal to Ghs, Ommr), they are waiting for the printout.

I'm not interested in your decals. I'm interested in sharing information, sources to help other modelers, showing my progress photos, ups and downs modeling the kits. Think that is wat modeling forums are all about IMHO., sharing knowledge to learn from fellow modelers.

After some physical disputes from which I recover real fine, I'm back at my workbench. Doing some little jobs here and there on several projects.
Have some engines to detail, L4500 standard for Büssing NAG(2x) and Mercedes (1x). Looking forward to that as I have some nice references.

Progress on Rail Truck. Some color added for wood base. Fixed front axle. Dry fit of cabin parts. Buffers mounted and mounting plate for back (one piece so far) fixed.

Robert Jan, thank you for the link to modellbahndecals! I have a couple of cars with only Reichbahn decals that I want to use for a cold war diorama. This company has the DB logos to do that.

Thanks for the heads up Angel. Some major progress to report by the end of this week. All seems to work like planned.
And it feels very good to sit on a chair behind my desk, no more pain that distracts. Very relaxing...

Found out that the buffers, all mounted with CA (yeah), was wrong. Lucky me all parts came off well. No damage, Must have been my medicine...
So the engine got some attention and the backside. Fit is ok, just a little TLC.




Engines just need a little attention. Zvezda did a great job on this one. Only some little scratch building to make it look better.
I remember the hook was a problem mounting the buffers and plate. In the end I glued the hook upside down and all was mirrored.

The small planet includes the floor,(for sure it did today). I think everything I touched today at least got to floor level.

Back to work. Stupid medicine can make it pretty complexed.
A little progress at least on this waku Saturday.

Test fit with the steel wheels.

I corrected the coupling for both sides. Air valves and hook come from the spares box, LZ upgrade set.
