What is it lifting from a turretless vehicle? Eh, engine, I guess.

I figured in 1/35 the award went to the Dora RR gun box.

The whole upper casement on the Ferdinand/Elefant can be removed just like a turret can.
Yep Steve, I'm with you:

About 2 mins in, the box with a plastic ruler on top......

No, that won the “small apartment with gun” award....
Hi Brekinapez, what is a B 24J? 😉

:-H
Yeah, but you're talking about a 1/32-scale B-24, which would dwarf any 1/32 Tank... How long is a B-24's Wing-span as compared to a Tank's length? The old 1/8 scale MONOGRAM Car kits came in pretty big boxes, too...

Mmmm, I’m surprised no one mentioned the Italeri schnellboot S 100 yet. But ok, there are larger boxed kits than the Amusing Hobby crane and Ferdinand with interior. Just.

But what about the biggest box with most empty space?
The CMK Beetle is a runner in that race.

What was the percentage of empty space in that box?
More than 50%?
Dragons kit of the Ka-Tsu (item 6839) had 50% empty space in the box. Maybe the rebox (item 6849) which adds two torpedoes uses some of that free space.

I’d have to nominate the ICM 1/16 SWAT as a contender here. Maybe as much as 60% space in the box.

For that matter, the ITALERI 1/35 Elco PT-Boats come in some pretty big boxes, as well... How about the REVELL 1/144 USS Fletcher..?

Try the Mini Art Soviet small arms ammunition box set. About 95% air in that box (tragically, I remember calculating it).

Just to bring this back to topic, the kit with crane is available on preorder for 75$US, which I thought was quite reasonable given how much modelling it represents.
