My Korean (besides kimchi.) is non existant. Anybody able to translate these warning placards? I presume it's something to the effect of "Keep Back. Tailgaters Will Be Vaporized."

Korean in Fifteen Minutes:

While meant to be funny, it actually taught me to read Hangul. Still don't know what the signs mean though...

All I can get from Google Translate is 금지 means "prohibited".

군작전 means "Military Operations"

군작전차량추월금지 means "No military vehicle overtaking"?

궤도차량추월금지 means "Prohibited track vehicle overtaking"?

I have learned a bit on typing in Korean. Some characters change in appearance when further typing is done.

They do change in appearance as they're incorporated into 3 character syllable clusters.

According to C.K. Lee:

Overtaking Prohibited.

So, basicly what I thought. Convoy markings. I noticed one has a 20 in the lower line. One set of markings on the sheet are for 20th Inf. Div. Is that one unit specific? Or is it something like "stay 20 meteres back."?

Oh! And thanks for the Korean lesson, Robert. Funny story related to that. I heard during the Cold War the guys with the Aggressor Squadrons at Nellis AFB (who were trained to speak Russian.) knew when the Soviet satellites were coming over. They would go on the roofs of the hangers and paint obscene messages in Cyrillic for the satellites to photograph. Area 51 weighs in ...

Characters are too small to see for me to type.

I tried zooming in on that line. result was too blurry to read. I'll try getting a better shot when I get the actual decal sheet in a few days.

Hi Timothy,
I took the liberty of tweaking your original post (removed "thumbs") to show the slightly larger full size image.
The bottom line on the right hand marking is still too small/blurred though ....
Cheers / Robin

Thanks Robin. I got the decal set today. Even with the actual decals and the instruction sheet I can't get a good photo. I did , however, notice that the figure in front of the 20 on the traffic is the same as the Korean instructions sayingn the markings are for the 20th Inf. Div. Don't know what it says, but does seem to be unit specific.
