Since I think the FAV is a prototype/test model, how can the kit be used except testing or postapocalyptic scenario.

Lots of options discussed in your earlier thread about the kit.

There's "Alternate Universe" ideas, and now they make 1/35 Sci-Fi resin figures so one can convert it to Sci-Fi with some Shapeways high-tech parts.
I guess you can also make it what it originally was...a Baja sand dune racer with sponsor logos and graphics. That's as realistic as you can get since it's true that it never was accepted into military service.
It WAS accepted into foreign military service, I believe.

in the late 80s it was either the 7th or 9th Infantry Division i think at FT Lewis in Wash State used them as a test

I still wonder why HobbyBoss makes such an "useless" vehicle? Hmmm..... Reverse engineering of the HobbyFan kit?

It was actually the mid 80's at Ft. Lewis, one brigade of the 9th ID was configured as the High Technology Test Bed, I was stationed there 83-85; fun times back then. Knowing the Army and its' love for acronyms it was the HTTB (running joke within the units was that it actually stood for Here, Try This BS); other more high speed units on post referred to it as the Toys R Us division. They got to try out all matter of new gear and systems, including the FAV. The brigade commander at the time I was at Ft. Lewis was Col. McCaffrey (same McCaffrey who commanded the 24th ID in ODS IIRC).

How about making a sand rail? These were popular in the 70's and were used for racing.
One of tamiya's earliest remote controlled cars was one.
All you need to do is to leave the mudgaurds and weapons off.
