Via the HMMWV In Scale FB Group, the consensus is that it is fake. One of the doubters is a heavy machinery operator too.

Well, a couple more guys chimed in on the Facebook page about the excavator and think it's a possible, although not practical. Go figure?

As for your new photo, it looks real to me as I've seen many overloaded HMMWV's similar to this one. So, if I had to make a guess one way or the other, I would say it is real. BUT, I wouldn't bet my life on it either.
