Hi Gang,
while the history of the trench warfare on the Western Front is well known, not much is known about the Eastern Front.(at least to me). Anyone knows about the trenches and positions on the Eastern Front, no matter German, Russian or Austria-Hungary.

TIA

sorry i'm not that astute, but I did enjoy many of the episodes here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FgaL0xIazk&list=PLB2vhKMBjSxMK8YelHj6VS6w3KxuKsMvT

and perhaps you can pick the ones which apply to your research.

Google search "combat ww1 eastern front". Bunch of photos there. Italian / Balkans would be interesting. Hard to dig trenches on a vertical cliff at 10000 ft. !

Prit Bruttar's 4 book series on the WW1 Eastern Front is fantastic. Not books full of pictures but they cover the theatre in devastating detail from start to finish. Highly recommended for an overview of what went on there.

I have a great article on the Russian Front in a magazine called Command. If interested drop me a PM and I'll see if I can scan it and e-mail it to you. Not much on the trenches but a great over view.

Not real trench warfare on the Eastern Front. It was much less static than in the West.
Norman Stone wrote a good book about it :
