Leiferwagen Type 170V German Beer Delivery CarrnGermany is famous for a few things with the Tiger and Panther being high on the list of armour modellers, for the British it is leaving their hotel room at 3 am to put a towel on a sun lounger by the pool, but for the rest of the world I suspect their beer (white wine for the ladies) is high on the list. MiniArt has tackled a period subject for getting that beer to the thirsty in the form of a Leiferwagen Type 170V German Beer Delivery Car in 1/35th scale.

When were these in service? I kind of like the Goering look-alike on the beer ad shown on the top pic. Might make a neat Governmental or factory delivery vehicle.

Production started before WW II, took a pause during the war and then resumed again afterwards.
Haven't got the faintest idea if the German military used these
but they did use the chassis with Kübelwagen type bodywork
and they used a very similar Opel Lieferwagen as loudspeaker carrier and for general utility service in military administration. Since almost all types of cars were drafted it would not surprise me the least if the Mercedes Lieferwagen wasn't drafted too ...
