Good afternoon everyone.

I have started on Meng’s King Tiger, Porsche version, with interior.

Has anyone had problems with interior parts M2 and M6 not fully aligning with the swing arm holes in the lower hull? Mine seem ok at the rear, but gradually seem to be about 0.25mm to 0.5 mm out at the front? Just wondering if it’s me, my kit, or a general fault?

I’ve read through the excellent build logs here but not quite sure what’s what.

Many thanks

Hi,

In case anyone is also building the Meng KT with interior I can now answer my own question. After much fettling and fiddling I have managed to align the holes more accurately by mainly a) removing a very tiny amount of material from the lover edge of M2and M6, but more importantly by removing material from the rear idler mount as this is predominantly what makes the fitting to the hull tub so tight for these two parts. By trimming down the idler mount a small amount it allows M2and M6 to move forward slightly, and thereby pulls the holes into a better alignment.

Hope this helps if anyone is having similar issues.

Mufty
