I read somewhere that ACE's new model has a mixture of features from both early and later versions of the same vehicle. I could not really find any good sources on the AMX-13, so I could not check it myself. Does anyone know of a good webpage I could check?

Hi
I'm certainly the one who stated here that ACE kit had accuracy issues. The main one is the mix of late suspension (shock absorbers) with the early running gear.
I could give you more details but I would need better pics of the kit.
Unfortunately I don't know of a comprehensive source on the internet. You have a very good book published by Pen and Sword written by Merlin Robinson, Peter Lau and Guy Gibeau (a former AMX13 platoon leader).
